There is never enough money for all the wants and needs of family members. So it is challenging to weigh the top priorities of all the members of your family to decide how money and effort will be apportioned. Try to include at least one goal or need of each family member on a goal worksheet, so that all can feel included in the planning. This will be the springboard for discussions on changes needed in spending and saving if you are to reach your goals.
Goals are motivators. They provide focus and direction. Financially, goals help us use the resources we have to get the things that we want. Goals turn dreams and wishes into reality.
Use the new America Saves Goal Tracker to see how you’re doing on your goals.
